"choodumade cheliya" is an all time favorite of mine. Raja's voice, beautiful lyrics describing the rasa-leela scene, and the soft hindolam tune. Also, the famous line in the song - naari-naari naduma muraari, hariki-hariki naduma vayaari - is a simple and sweet one-phrase Telugu translation of the original complicated four-line sanskrit verse in "srikrishna karnamritam" by Leela Suka (anganaa-anganaa antare maadhava...). Compare the lyrics of those days with the those of the present --- abba nee teeyani debba, enta kammagaa undiro-rabba. chee chee.

"Naari-Naari" in tamil is not something very nice, but I got the chee-chee part:)

I like ancient stuff, but there are some good tamil lyricists in like Vairamuthu, Na. Muthukumar and Thamarai. Speaking of ancient this may be 50+ years ago..do like some A.M. Raja's songs.. simple and sweet indeed.

He is actually singing stuff- which is quite flattering and she is riding a horse with him..in an apparently isolated place..but, all the facial expressions, like she is surprised and innocent, cute:) Don't think that has changed much!

If possible, would appreciate the translation of what it means in Telugu.

Thanks.

Nary, narien.
I'm on fire
Nary, narien. Nary men gamaloo.
I'm on fire, from her beauty.
Nary, narien. Alby eih garaloo?
I'm on fire, What's happened to my heart?

Men nazra, khadny fe lahza, dobna ehna sawa. (Habibi dah)
From one look, she took me in a second. We both fell for each other. (This is my darling)
Agmal kalam fe eyono, alo enei el hawa. (Habibi dah)
The most beautiful words in her eyes, Her eyes spoke to me of love.

Habeyto, ameil eih? (Habibi dah) Nary men eil ana fee. (Habibi dah)
I love her. What can I do? I'm on fire from all this.

Ah men khedoodo, soto, odo we dehketo. (Habibi dah)
I can't stand her cheeks, voice, face and smile.
Arabt meno, ashekt naro we reketo. (Habibi dah)
I got close to her, I longed for her fire and style.

Jab se hoo wei moo laat kaat. Jadusa hoo gaaie sari raat
From the moment I met you the nights became like beautiful magic

Salemto alby hata abl makalimo. (Habibi dah)
I submitted my heart, even before I spoke to her.
Maho kan fe baly, we fe khayaly barsemo. (Habibi dah)
Since in my mind, and my imagination, I had been drawing her out.

Teri nazar ke mei gulam Dilmere atra kakan
I am a slave by the looks of you And my heart skips a beat

Palbar me kargaya mujpar kya jadu bas me tu kar kud parse kabu
in a instant you made magic on me, enough will you control yourself

LOL. I also like choodumade cheliyaa (although it sounds a bit like his nose was singing). You didn't comment on the "fashion liberal" version - abba nee teeyani debba, enta kammagaa undiro-rabba.

Comment cheyyadaniki emee ledandi. nenu konchem moderately conservative in terms of propriety in language usage that suits the character. If I remember right, Chiranjeevi in that movie is a guy who runs a home for anaatha pillalu, and he singing " nee teeyani debba enta kammagaa undi" to a girl from the heavens (for all we know, she may be speaking sanskrit as mother tongue) didn't seem right. If it were a spoof, it could be entertaining, but that is not a spoof, Chiranjeevi singing that song is the real deal in the movie.

nEnu Propa ki raasaanu, meeku kaadu. Propa invented a new expression - "fashion liberal". I thought I would include that in asking a question.

Bible says woman is a man's subject. I like that this woman enjoys her man beating her.
