Various Indian languages not only were enriched enormously in the past by the vast vocabulary (words and phrases) belonging originally to Sanskrit, but many of them also long ago borrowed and started using the impeccable Sanskrit alphabet (extensive set of vowels and consonants) which continues to this day in their latest incarnations and while even using their respective original scripts in modified / expanded form. Some of the Indian languages using Sanskrit alphabet presently include Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, etc.

In contrast, the impact of Sanskrit on the vocabularies and alphabets of languages abroad (in Europe etc.) is noticed less than in Indian languages, which probably is due to the fact that Sanskrit most likely had its birth and development in India long ago, thus influencing the nearby Indian languages more than the distant foreign languages (in Europe etc.).

Here is a message in Kannada:
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಜನತೆಗೆ ಸುಸ್ವಾಗತ .(Karnāṭaka janatege susvāgata.)
The same message in Hindi / Sanskrit ...  "Karnataka janata su-svagat" ("welcome Karnataka people").

"Sanskrit should be made compulsory (in schools) in my opinion," (S. Swami: https://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/politics/120518/india-had-manual-to-build-aircraft-subramanian-swamy.html)

>>> That could lead to shedding important light on a number of key issues in science and mathematics as more and more young people (future scientists and mathematicians) are exposed to and trained in Sanskrit in schools.
