Hanuman Chalisa

One of my last conversations with my mother:
Me: You know, whenever I feel scared, I say the Mantra which Daadi (paternal grandma) taught me when I was about 5-6 year old.
She: Oh really? What is it?
Me: I have been using it for the last 30+ years mummy. It works all the time. It goes like this, and I recite this to her, while she is going through her chemotherapy:
"Raam Bhajo Shri Baaram-baaraa
Chakra Sudarshan Hai Rakhwara"
She: *smiles* - and that works for you?
Me: Yeah.... I mean, it distracts me enough to make it work.
She: I read Hanuman Chalisa.
Me: What is it? Is it not too lengthy?
She: I read it everyday in the morning.
Me: Oh.

Now, I listen to Hanuman Chalisa just to find my mother in it.

almost all men, particularly indian men, in their early childhood see the world only through the eyes of their mother, for relatively extended period of time. In those formative years everything and anything sticks strongly to the mind, including their almost total dependence on the mothers. That's so deep rooted, it's not possible to erase it completely, when the mother departs - for some it takes a very long time, and if there is guilt that they could have served better/saved/extended their mother's life, then it tends to become irreversible. It consumes one, and you prosecute yourself, everyday.... and invariably you end up taking it to your grave.

After watching Sadhguru's views, I shall not question death, but simply accept it.
It just is.
The part that he did not touch upon was - How can one life be better without another?
We are interconnected. What is the meaning of life if we are not?

The most convincing reply I have found to my Q when some loved one departs is -
"Imagine they are looking at you. What would they like to see?"
And, I ALWAYS end up "smiling" :-)

I was selfish in my ego to only think about my loss of mother.
My father lost his wife of 50 years.
Damn!
Why is life so complicated. Any why do better people leave this world suddenly?
I talked to my father last night.
He is lucky to have raised doctor daughters, because sons aint doing shyt for him.
But when I talked to him last night - one thing struck me.
We talk like friends now!
Wow.

Me: Dude, I know. I am talking of the second game. Bring <x> with U. Will drop him at school tomorrow.
He: No. Bruh, I am in the car back home.
Whats the point?
My son treats me as a friend. Calls me Bruh, me being old fashioned, have to bring out and think to reply back as bruh.
But, I only wish that he continues to call me Bruh once his pubic hair grows.
Parenthood!

Actually, I do not get any sense of fearlessness with Hanuman Chalisa.
Perhaps, its because of lack of faith.
